Important Notice About Scam Calls and Texts

Scammers are impersonating financial institutions across the country, including Summit Credit Union. They are spoofing phone numbers to make calls and texts appear as though they are coming from the Credit Union or other trusted organizations. These fraudsters attempt to obtain personal and account-related information.

Summit Credit Union will never call, email, or text asking for your account number, debit or credit card number, PIN, Social Security number, or your password.

Here are a few tips to help protect yourself and your family:

  • Let unknown calls go to voicemail.
  • If a call claims to be from a financial institution, hang up and call back using a trusted number from a statement or official website.
  • Report and block the call only if it is clearly not a number you would ever need to receive calls from again.
  • Avoid responding with "STOP" if prompted. This confirms your number is active and could be sold to other fraudsters.
  • Forward spam texts to 7726 (SPAM), so carriers can flag them network-wide.

Trust your instincts - If something does not feel legitimate, it probably is not. If you ever have a concern or need to verify a communication, please call or text us directly at 336-662-6200.
