Summit Credit Union Honored with the Partners in Philanthropy Award
We are proud to announce that Summit Credit Union, together with the James V. and Elizabeth N. Hamilton Foundation, has been selected as a 2025 Partners in Philanthropy Award recipient by the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation.*
This recognition highlights Elizabeth "Sis" Hamilton's life-long commitment to giving back. Sis dedicated more than seven decades of her life to the credit union movement, championing cooperation, mentorship, and the belief that strong communities start with strong credit unions.

In Sis' honor, Summit Credit Union established the Hamilton Professional Development Grant Fund, which is managed by the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation. Through generous support of our credit union and the Hamilton Foundation, more than $230,000 has been committed to providing leadership and professional development opportunities for small credit unions in the Carolinas. These grants help strengthen training, expand strategic capacity, and ensure smaller institutions have the resources they need to continue serving their members and communities.
We are grateful to be recognized alongside the Hamilton Foundation for carrying forward Sis Hamilton’s remarkable legacy. This award reflects the heart of who we are and our philosophy: "people helping people." And, we remain committed to investing in the future of the credit union movement.
Thank you for being part of the Summit Credit Union family. Because of you, we are able to support the cooperative principles that make achievements like this possible.
